MISSISSAUGA – For the fourth year in a row, the community united in support of the Scotiabank Bed Race benefitting Trillium Health Partners hosted at Mississauga Celebration Square. $140,000 was raised for Trillium Health Partners on Sunday, June 5.
“We’re thrilled to have celebrated another successful Bed Race in support of our hospital,” said Steve Hoscheit, President & CEO, Trillium Health Partners Foundation. “Community support is a huge vote of confidence for our health care professionals, as well as those who turn to our hospital every day for care. With our community’s support, we can continue to advance our hospital programs and services for our community. We can’t thank Scotiabank and our community enough for their incredible support of this year’s event.”
Dressed in costume, 16 teams decorated and raced their custom-designed beds through Mississauga Celebration Square, while spectators cheered them on. Attendees enjoyed a BBQ lunch, hosted by Scarlett House Catering and Pizza Pizza, as they watched dancers and live music from Nightfly on the main stage, and singer/songwriter Michael Theodore returned as emcee. Canada’s very own The Kings, best known for their 1980’s world-famous hit ‘This Beat Goes On/Switchin’ To Glide’ popped in to perform before the two fastest teams competed for the gold!
“Scotiabank is committed to helping our communities become healthier and stronger, which is why we’re proud to support the Scotiabank Bed Race,” said Christine Stager, District Vice President, GTA Mississauga District, Scotiabank. “We want to thank everyone who came out to the event, whether you raced or came to cheer on friends and family, you all helped champion an important cause. Scotiabank is proud to support Trillium Health Partners and their important work in our community.”
Funds raised will support highest priorities at Trillium Health Partners – ensuring the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
Trillium Health Partners Foundation and Trillium Health Partners Volunteers would like to thank the community for their continuous generosity and incredible support, and to Scotiabank for being partner sponsor for the fourth year in a row.
