YOUR GENEROSITY IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE
On behalf of all of us at Trillium Health Partners Foundation, thank you for supporting Trillium Health Partners (THP) during the COVID-19 health crisis.
Your donations, gifts of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), food and other items, and words of encouragement have truly made a difference to our staff and patients.
Our President and CEO, Caroline Riseboro, has a thank you message to share with all of you.
Thanks to you, we are helping our hospital in the fight against COVID-19
For the past few months, THP has been on the front lines of care, responding to the COVID-19 crisis.
From the beginning, our hospital leaders have been focused on making sure that we would be ready for COVID-19 patients, and that our health care teams would continue to feel safe and supported as they care for our community. With your support, we have been able to provide our hospital with the funds and items needed to be able to respond quickly to both of these priorities.
We are pleased to share how your generosity has impacted our hospital:
Equipping our health care teams with the tools needed to provide exceptional care
Creating new ways of delivering care through innovation
Providing virtual care that centres around our patients’ needs
Maintaining an appropriate supply of PPE and other items
Thank you to the members of our community who donated items of PPE such as masks, gloves, hand sanitizer/disinfectant and other items to help protect our staff and patients. With your support, we were able to ensure that we maintained our supplies of PPE while continuing to care for our patients.
We have also received donations of electronics, including 3D printers to make our own face shields, and baby monitors, which allow health care workers to communicate with patients at a safe distance and limit unnecessary contact and the use of additional PPE.
Distributing meals with the help of our generous community
Saying thank you with coffee and treats
In the media: Connecting patients with their families
With COVID-19 preventing patients from being able to see their family members, our health care workers are going above and beyond to turn a difficult situation into a positive one. The Toronto Star recently profiled Paul Marek, a nurse in the ICU at our Mississauga Hospital site, and shared how he was able to use FaceTime to connect a patient recovering from brain surgery with his loved ones.
Donor support has allowed us to purchase iPads for use throughout the hospital, making it easier for our health care teams to connect patients with family members during their stay.
Standing by our health care teams
We are grateful to you and so many other members of our community for supporting our frontline health care workers with your generosity, gestures of appreciation and words of encouragement. These simple acts of kindness have meant so much to everyone within the Trillium Health Partners family.
Thank you for standing with us during this unprecedented time!
