Food Donations for Frontline Staff

Thank you for considering a donation of food for our front line health care workers. Donations of food are an exceptional token of gratitude for our staff, and their unwavering commitment to patient care. After the long hours of fighting COVID-19, it can be hard to shop or cook, so these donations offer a welcome break – thank you.


If you are considering a donation of food, please note the following criteria, and include within your e-mail to the Foundation:

Non-perishable food items:

  • A description of the donation
  • Quantity – our minimum threshold for accepting is 1,000 items
  • Packaging description – anything donated must be individually wrapped
  • Timing of your donation, or any restrictions around shipping/timing

Please note that the Foundation evaluates all donations with the hospital before confirming with the donor. Confirmation may take up to one week.

Meals: 

  • What the meal consists of (can water bottles/pop can be included)
  • Quantity – our minimum threshold for accepting meals is 700 meals for Credit Valley Hospital, 700 meals for Mississauga Hospital locations and/or  200 Meals for Queensway Health Centre
  • Packaging -meals must be prepacked and labelled – “grab and go” format.  Please note that meals cannot be kept warm and the preference is for a cold meal.
  • Delivery date – please note your preference and we will do our best to accommodate
  • Delivery time – 5:30 pm at Credit Valley Hospital and Mississauga Hospital and 2:30 pm at Queensway Health Centre.  An early morning delivery time will be arranged for breakfast-type meals.

Items not for consideration:

  • Homemade meals
  • Energy drinks/ herbal remedies such as sleep aids or vitamin packs
