The Hospital was also pleased to report that it ended the fiscal year on firm financial footing, well positioned to continue to meet the growing and changing needs of the community.
Michele Darling, Chair, Trillium Health Partners Foundation also reported that in 2014-2015 total community fundraising activity for the Foundation resulted in $26.4 million for the hospital. This is a result of more than 55,000 donations and more than 118 community fundraising events supporting our hospital.
“Our community can take pride in what their hospital is achieving,” said Edward Sellers, Chair, THP Board of Directors. “We are home to the largest community hospital in Ontario, and getting closer to reaching our goal of a new kind of health care for a healthier community by providing patients with greater access to the highest quality care, sustained for generations to come.”
“We succeed by living our belief in the power of teamwork each and every day,” said Michelle DiEmanuele, President and CEO, THP. “It’s from the way our interprofessional teams collaborate to deliver an exceptional patient experience to the way our team partners outside the walls of the hospital to better meet our community’s needs. From every corner of the hospital, our team pulls together to meet challenges, and I want to thank them and our patients for the work we do together.”
Trillium Health Partners Foundation and the Hospital were also pleased to announce a $5 million gift, made through personal philanthropy, from the senior leadership team of the hospital and foundation.
The $5 million commitment, a result of 100% personal financial participation among medical program chiefs, the board of directors and executives from both the Hospital and Foundation, will be invested in priority areas to advance patient care.
“Believing in a new kind of health care begins within these hospital walls and within each of us,” commented Steve Hoscheit, President and CEO, Trillium Health Partners Foundation. “This donation is real teamwork that truly reflects how strongly we believe that Trillium Health Partners can lead the transformational change needed to ensure sustainable, accessible, quality care that is available to everyone for generations to come.”
