Trillium Health Partners Volunteers donate $2 million to fund life-saving equipment

MISSISSAUGA – In honour of National Volunteer Week, Trillium Health Partners Foundation is proud to announce a generous $2 million gift from Trillium Health Partners Volunteers that will help transform how health care is delivered to the Mississauga and West Toronto community.

“Year after year, the impact of our volunteers has been felt across our entire hospital. From bake sales to silent auctions to community events, our Volunteers continue to raise the bar with their overwhelming generosity,” says Steve Hoscheit, President & CEO, Trillium Health Partners Foundation. “They are over 2,000 strong and have supported virtually every area of our hospital, including paediatrics, our Emergency Department and our Cancer Centre, to name a few. We’re incredibly grateful for their gift and know their investment will have a lasting impact on the delivery of patient care for generations to come.”

The Volunteers’ gift will allow Trillium Health Partners (THP) to acquire significant pieces of life-saving equipment – like heart-lung machines and ultrasound machines – across its three hospital sites, Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga Hospital and Queensway Health Centre, providing THP’s interprofessional care teams with the proper tools to continue to deliver the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

“The health of our community has always been at the core of our beliefs,” says Susan Larkin, President, Trillium Health Partners Volunteers. “Each of us holds a deep commitment to ensuring that our community has access to the very best health care, right here, close to home. And just like our hospital is here for us and our loved ones, we want to be there for it too.”
