Laugh Out Loud 2017 raises over $1.1 million for Trillium Health Partners

MISSISSAUGA – on February 25, Mississauga was invaded by Britain’s finest. Host of The Late Late Show and carpool karaoke superstar James Corden debuted his first show on Canadian soil at the 5th annual Laugh Out Loud with a spectacular performance at The International Centre – with a surprise guest appearance from actor-comedian and star of the hit CBC sitcom Mr. D, Gerry Dee. More than $1.1 million was raised in support of Trillium Health Partners’ (THP) My Hospital Fund.

“Our community continues to inspire us with their incredible generosity, all while sharing a few laughs along the way,” says Steve Hoscheit, President & CEO, Trillium Health Partners Foundation. “Special thanks to our sponsors and community for their continued partnership and to James Corden and Gerry Dee for an outstanding night to remember.”

At the event, guests were transported to Britain’s most memorable places – from the flower markets of Notting Hill to indulging in gourmet British fare to an unforgettable tribute to Elton John’s greatest hits.

Proceeds from LOL 2017 will benefit THP’s My Hospital Fund. This Fund represents the heart of Trillium Health Partners – seven core hospital programs which enable care across the entire clinical platform – Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, Genetics, Pharmacy and Medicine. These services are vital to ensuring that everyone in our community can access the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

The Foundation would like to thank Square One, Entertainment Sponsor and Longo’s, Dinner Sponsor for returning for the fifth year in a row, and are grateful to all sponsors and donors who helped make LOL 2017 a success.
